Lydie’s ready for homeschool 😏

Fireworks Competition

Dueling fireworks on the Fourth. Which one lasted the longest? 👀 Happy Friday! There should be fireworks for that, right?

Park Day

Ah yes—the beach! How nice! Or... the volleyball pit at a park. 😜

Summer Evening Walk

I bought homeschooling curriculum for 2020/2021. So that’s happening. I am equally nervous and relieved. My goals are simplicity/stability/positivity. What is even going on in the world? I certainly don’t know. We’ll just be over here together, doing our best, stumbling along come what may. I know many parents are worried about this decision for a myriad of reasons. Sending love. #am_covidchronicles

Lessons

Lydie teaches me to be meek. To forgive freely. What it is to be loyal. What it is to be brave. How to be consistently joyful and authentically excited. How to try and try and try again. How to hang on and when to let go. She teaches me how much I need to rely on God—and that He is really always there, in the details. She teaches me what is possible with faith, endurance, love, and grace. She is light and continually points me towards where I need to go. She isn’t the Sun but boy does she reflect it purely. #misslydiefaith

Softball

Also, Lydie, who loves to be involved and we love it, too. 🤗

Baseball

We introduced them to The Sandlot & a new passion was born. ⚾️

Festivities

Slingshotting pop-its. For ‘Merica. 🇺🇸

Tune Up

My engineer.

Carefree Kid

Just a kid in a tree. One of the best places for anyone to be.

Cooking Lessons

Boys are back in the kitchen today making a recipe they found in a kids’ magazine. If we could commission @joannagaines for some actually edible recipes in a kid cookbook that would be great. 🤤🥴😅💛

Joy

When little things are the best and most significant things. Like this wind-in-the-face, carefree, completely present & happy moment.

Frolicking Outside

I feel like you need to zoom in on this image to appreciate it on IG. Also, we finally cut his hair and I was quite sad about it. But hot summers with a mop on your head... I get it. Boy do I get it. 😅💁🏼‍♀️🌞🔥

Favorite Month

June is my favorite. We’re at the peak of long days & late sunsets. The temperature hasn’t skyrocketed. The world is still green instead of fading to brown. Wild flowers are blooming in the mountains. Evenings outside are cool and peaceful. Beautiful, happy June.
